About¶

I'm Vaishali, a Linux kernel and virtualization engineer based in Berlin, Germany. I have more than a decade of experience building systems software, with work spanning kernel development, virtualization, eBPF, and confidential computing.

Technical leadership¶

I bring more than ten years of experience in Linux kernel and systems software and currently lead confidential computing efforts at SUSE. I also occassionally serve on the technical program committees for the conferences like eBPF Summit and the Open Confidential Computing Conference (OC3).

Technical speaking¶

I have spoken at international open source and systems conferences, including KVM Forum, FOSDEM, Linux Plumbers Conference, Kernel Recipes, and LinuxCon. You can find a selection on my talks page.

Mentorship and community building¶

Over the years, I have helped many aspiring contributors navigate kernel development. I also ran Linux kernel workshops at universities across India; the workshop material remains publicly available. In the past, I organized Linux kernel and Rust meetups in Bangalore, as well as the Kernel BoF at DevConf.in.

I'm also passionate about increasing diversity in open source coommunities. I have served as a Linux kernel coordinator for Outreachy and co-organized Rails Girls Summer of Code.
